Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Support

Eenos 3.0.1 adds official support for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

This allows Eenos to be deployed on the latest Ubuntu Long Term Support platform, providing a modern operating-system foundation with updated system libraries, packages, security improvements, and long-term maintenance.

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS can be used with the Eenos hosting stack, including web hosting, mail services, DNS management, SSL automation, databases, backups, security services, and File Studio Enterprise.

Recent Feature Updates

Wildcard SSL Certificates with Eenos DNS Plugin

Eenos now supports automated Wildcard SSL certificate issuance using the Eenos DNS plugin.

Wildcard certificates such as:

*.example.com

can be issued using DNS-based validation through the Eenos DNS infrastructure.

Benefits

  • Automated DNS validation
  • Wildcard SSL certificate support
  • Eenos DNS integration
  • Simplified SSL deployment
  • Reduced manual DNS configuration
  • Automated certificate renewal

This makes it easier to secure multiple subdomains with a single wildcard certificate.

Webmail SSO

Eenos now provides Webmail Single Sign-On (SSO) integration.

Users can access Webmail directly from the Eenos control panel without repeatedly entering their mailbox password.

The SSO mechanism uses secure temporary authentication tokens to provide a seamless authentication experience between Eenos and Webmail.

Benefits

  • One-click Webmail access
  • Secure authentication tokens
  • No repeated mailbox password entry
  • Improved user experience
  • Seamless Eenos and Webmail integration

Dovecot 2.4 Full Support

Eenos 3.0.1 provides full support for Dovecot 2.4.

The Eenos mail infrastructure has been updated to support the architectural and configuration changes introduced in Dovecot 2.4.

This includes updated authentication integration, mailbox handling, quota support, and compatibility with the modern Dovecot 2.4 configuration architecture.

Dovecot 2.4 is now the recommended and supported Dovecot version for Eenos 3.

Deprecation and Removal

Dovecot 2.3 and Earlier

Support for Dovecot 2.3 and earlier versions is deprecated in Eenos 3.0.1.

Dovecot 2.4 is now the supported Dovecot platform for the Eenos 3 series.

Existing installations using Dovecot 2.3 should plan their migration to Dovecot 2.4.

Dovecot 2.3 and earlier support will be removed in the next major Eenos release.

Eenos Simple File Manager

The Eenos Simple File Manager service is deprecated in Eenos 3.0.1.

It is being replaced by Eenos File Studio Enterprise, which provides a more modern, secure, extensible, and feature-rich file-management experience.

Users and administrators are encouraged to begin transitioning from Simple File Manager to File Studio Enterprise.

The deprecated Simple File Manager components will be removed in the next major Eenos release.
